Last month I went back home for a visit and convinced my mom to go thrifting with me. My mom is not a thrifter. She likes her clothes new from the store (thank you very much!) But since she hasn’t seen me in over a year she humored me and we stopped at a few thrift stores during a day of shopping.
The minute I picked these pants out her face screwed up. After trying them on and parading out of the fitting room she couldn’t hold it in anymore before she whispered “those pants are ugly!” I smiled and told her I was buying them anyway because I liked them and she just shook her head. This is an example of what I wear to work when meeting with clients. Usually you’ll catch me rocking a pair of heels but I’m getting into flats more and more these days. There’s nothing worse than hobbling at night after a day of strutting in heels. I won’t lie, the jacket was for the pictures because in San Diego a sweater will do. Honestly, most days a sweater will give you a heat stroke but I’ve always been willing to suffer for fashion.
I feel like I should be sitting out on the lanai with Blanche, Dorothy, Rose and Sophia. Maybe I’ve been watching too many episodes of the Golden Girls lately because their style is rubbing off on me.
While I know these pants might not be everyone’s cup of tea the suit me perfectly fine. I dress for comfort, style and a little craziness. You’ll always see me rocking crazy prints and oversized silhouettes because that’s what I like.
